Chris Chockley, representing Bolton & Mink and speaking for Horry County Schools, said the units are temporary during school renovations but could not confirm how long they will stay in place. “We will have to get back on that one,” Chockley said when asked about duration, and he told the board staff would follow up with specifics.
Board members asked practical questions about visibility from Vaught Road, whether skirting or ramps would be installed and where pedestrian access would be located; Chockley said skirting would be provided on three sides and that landscaping would be concentrated on the street-facing side. The board approved the variance subject to the standard staff conditions listed in the packet.
