The Cayuga County Legislature amended the Social Services budget to accept $268,767 in state Rental Supplement Program (RSP) funds to provide rental assistance for individuals and families facing homelessness for the NYS fiscal year April 1, 2026–March 31, 2027. The resolution directs the Finance and Budget directors to amend revenue and expense lines to administer the program.
In the same meeting, the Legislature authorized renewal of a contract with the Rescue Mission for homeless family and transitional housing at a cost of $95,040 for the period June 1, 2026–May 31, 2027. The Rescue Mission operates eight units leased from Auburn Housing Authority and provides case management intended to transition households to permanent housing.
