Mayor Witt Anderson said disposal of "fats, oil and grease down drains is a felony offence" and asked whether the city should include a notice in utility billing; McCalib and City Recorder Amy Szilagyi said a billing insert is being prepared to go out with the next utility cycle. Councilor Charlie Cannon asked about a real-time notification system to help establish patterns of illegal dumping, and Councilor Brenna Campbell asked about sampling across the city; McCalib said samples can be taken but that analysis is a lengthy process. The council asked staff to research existing wastewater ordinances for potential fines and enforcement mechanisms.
