Ottawa County commissioners approve contracts, levy renewal and $1.78 million in vouchers

The board approved the Ottawa County Voucher Report dated June 10, 11 and 15, 2026 in the total amount of $1,783,866.98 and authorized the County Auditor to issue warrants. The meeting record shows the action was moved by Commissioner Douglas and seconded by Commissioner Coppeler; the vote was "Mark W. Stahl, yes; Donald A. Douglas, yes; Mark E. Coppeler, yes." The board also authorized transfers and appropriations requested by the Auditor’s Office and the Commissioners’ Office.
Other approvals included hiring the law firm Clemans, Nelson & Associates to represent the Engineer’s Office on personnel/labor matters, authorization to sign a $394,400 contract with Kelstin, LLC for chemical‑feed improvements at the Danbury Township Wastewater Treatment Plant, and a change order adding $18,215.22 to an asphalt‑resurfacing contract with Kokosing Construction Co., Inc., bringing that contract to $1,205,091.67.
The board adopted two resolutions of note: Resolution No. 26‑14 to proceed with a levy renewal of 0.7 mills for the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Joint County Services District, and Resolution No. 26‑15 to proceed with construction of the Ottawa County Regional Water supply and connection to the Village of Marblehead. The board also set a bid opening for the regional water project for July 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
The meeting adjourned at 10:28 a.m. after the board approved final routine business and event permits for the Ottawa County Agriculture Society.
