The council approved a hydrant flow-testing procedure, a hydrant marking code, and a hydrant inspection procedure to comply with new Public Service Commission regulations assigning municipalities responsibility for hydrant maintenance and testing. The three items were approved by unanimous vote after a motion by Councilor Charlene Louk and a second by Councilor Karen Phillips.
The treasurer had earlier briefed the council that BowSel Inc. will be in Nutter Fort starting Thursday, May 29, 2025, to begin hydrant testing to meet the new requirements. The minutes note the town will follow PSC guidance; the minutes do not list the scope, cost, or an overall schedule beyond the contractor start date.
