The Horry County Planning Commission voted Aug. 7 to approve a comprehensive-plan amendment and rezoning that will allow an additional warehouse for Harwick's Restaurant Supplies on Roper Lane in Longs.
Planning staff (Grayson) said the applicant sought to change 1.5 acres from MSF-10 to RE-4. Staff noted two warehouses on the property were permitted in 1988 and 1992 before zoning was established and that Harwick's has operated at the location since the mid-1990s. "They're looking to permit an additional warehouse for the existing business," Grayson said. Staff recommended approval, and the commission approved both the future land use amendment and the rezoning by motion.
