Staff told the commission that the applicant is requesting a future land use map amendment and rezoning of 1.5 acres to permit an additional warehouse for an existing restaurant-supply business on Roper Lane. Staff noted the site's existing zoning is predominantly residential nearby, two existing warehouses were permitted in 1988 and 1992, the business (recorded in the file as Harwick's Restaurant Supplies) has operated at the location since the mid-1990s, and the submitted site plan shows the proposed building will meet required setbacks and is outside the flood zone.
The applicant said the extra building is intended to store paper products and to allow the owner to clean up material near the highway. The applicant said they will appear at the public hearing at the official planning meeting next week. "We're just looking at adding another building to store paper products," the applicant said.
