County approves roundabout design amendment and removes 'No Trucks' restriction on Flaugh Road

Allen County authorized an amendment (not to exceed $9,930) for design work to move a drain related to the Leesburg and Kroemer Road roundabout and approved removing 'No Trucks' signage on Flaugh Road in anticipation of INDOT work increasing access to US 30.
Allen County Highway Director Bill Hartman asked the board to approve Amendment #1 with Butler, Fairman and Seufert Inc. for additional design work on the Leesburg and Kroemer Road roundabout (AC#1200225) to move a drain; the amendment was capped at $9,930 and approved by a 2-0 vote. Hartman said the additional design work is necessary to prepare the site for construction.
Hartman also recommended removing 'No Trucks' signage on Flaugh Road (US 30 to Bass Road) because, after INDOT's redesign and construction of US 30, Flaugh will be one of two access points and is now improved to handle heavier truck traffic. The board approved removal of the signage 2-0.
