The Allen County Drainage Board authorized use of the General Drain Improvement Fund (GDIF) to pay $8,298 for a tile repair on the Rodenbeck No.2 drain that lacked a periodic maintenance fund, with an understanding the GDIF will be reimbursed when a maintenance fund is established.
Separately, DOCs related to the Ravenswood development (DOCs #26-157, #26-158 and #26-159) were approved to establish new regulated drains and allow home-construction encroachments. Minutes noted a potential upgrade of an undersized pipe to 24" at an outlet; ACSO said the county received a quote from Fox Contractors and recommended the county pay that estimate to make the system work while the contractor was on site. Developer representative Joe Herendeen questioned who would bear the cost; ACSO recommended paying the estimate from GDIF and then establishing the maintenance fund, with further board consideration of developer vs. county expense.
