City updates HSIP safety projects: school‑area crosswalks and bikeway striping funded

Dixon engineering staff updated the council on Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) projects the city has applied for and received. Jordan Santos said HSIP cycle 10 funded pedestrian and crosswalk improvements near John Knight Middle School and is now in the project completion/acceptance phase. Cycle 11 awards will add landing platforms and crossing improvements near the Good Neighbor Christian School and complete remaining crosswalk work tied to John Knight.
For cycle 12, the city secured separate grants for pedestrian and bicycle improvements, including class‑2 bike lane striping on North Adams Street to complete a regional bikeway connection. Santos emphasized coordination with Solano County and the Solano Transportation Authority for crossings and transit connections; construction, final striping and electrical work were described as either substantially complete or in final punch‑list stages for the school‑area projects.
