Council signs off on fire station closeout, releases retainage and moves funds to reserves

Staff told the council that Roshan completed the punch-list items for the new fire station and recommended approval of the final pay application (Pay App 20) and release of retainage. Staff said the payout includes a $20,000 credit for future concrete-panel replacements; if approved that credit will be transferred into the fire department's capital fund for future repairs.
Staff also recommended transferring the remaining fire hall construction fund balance (approximately $147,726) to the city's general fund to help reach the council's fund-balance target. Council asked about earmarking for the $20,000 credit and staff confirmed it will be clearly designated in accounting. The council approved the pay application and the transfers unanimously.
