Raven Darnall told the council that Core & Main is changing its meter‑reader software. She said current field equipment will continue to work but the software would require an annual licensing fee of $4,000.00, with a planned 3% increase each year going forward.
Darnall said she will check compatibility with the city's billing system (CIC) before the council commits to a recurring cost. No vote or contract authorization occurred at the July 1 meeting; the council received the cost information for future budgeting.
