Cherokee County commissioners approve routine business, hire road operator

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners met on Aug. 18, 2025, and approved routine business including the Aug. 11 minutes, payroll and payables. All three motions passed unanimously.
The board approved the hire of Corbin Dantic for the Road & Bridge position of Utility/Operator I at a starting rate of $16 per hour after Road and Bridge Superintendent Cody Zook presented the candidate. Commissioners also agreed to hold a special meeting at 8:00 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2025, in place of the Labor Day meeting.
Two brief attorney-client executive sessions were held during the meeting; the record notes no action was taken after either session. The meeting adjourned at 10:11 a.m. and the minutes were certified on Aug. 25, 2025.
