The committee moved PR26-635 to the consent block and approved the renomination of Prischelle Shannon to the Corrections Information Council. Chair Brooke Pinto said Shannon is a current CIC member and that the resolution was introduced by Chairman Mendelson at the mayor’s request in early April.
Pinto outlined Shannon’s qualifications, saying Shannon is the CEO and cofounder of For Truth, a for-profit firm that provides trauma-informed consulting to nonprofit, private and government entities and that she has over 16 years of experience working with incarcerated populations, including roles as a uniformed officer, substance-abuse counselor, mental-health therapist, program analyst, PREA coordinator and DOJ-certified PREA auditor. The committee approved the nomination by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
