The Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety met virtually on March 26, 2026, confirmed two governing-board nominees to the Corrections Information Council and advanced the Support Opportunity Unity Legal Relationships (SOLE) Amendment Act (B26-0399) to print and report.
Chair Brooke Pinto opened the session, described the CIC's role, and moved the two nominee resolutions in block. Later the committee considered B26-0399, which sponsors said would create a "sole family" permanency option for older youth in the Child and Family Services Agency system. Councilmember Zachary Parker described the measure as youth-led, and Councilmember Anita Bonds voiced support. Pinto moved the bill to print and report with leave for staff to make technical edits; the committee approved both items unanimously and adjourned.
