KDHE inspects lagoons; council approves equipment purchases and disposals

Public works supervisor Caleb Ironsyde reported staff activities and inspections at the July 15 meeting. He said Tammy Jackson from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment inspected the lagoons (inspections not done since 2015) and that the lagoons passed most items but fencing will need correction. A dam inspection was described as satisfactory. Ironsyde also said the old bucket truck and a Dodge Dakota are listed for sale on Purple Wave.
The council approved several equipment and procurement motions: purchase of a weed eater at $629.99 (motion by Angela Evans, seconded by Kathy Miller), a laptop not to exceed $600 (motion by Kathy Miller, seconded by Angela Evans), and a Polaris Ranger for $11,999 (motion by Adam Clark, seconded by Janice Fine). The minutes also note the existing weed eater is broken and could not be repaired.
