Ripley County Council approves package of appropriations for health programs, sheriff server and prosecutor software

The Ripley County Council approved a set of budget moves and additional appropriations during its May 18 meeting, including funding for public safety technology and health programs. The council authorized a $60,000 sheriff appropriation to purchase a public-safety server and approved an $11,994 appropriation for Axon Storage software for the Prosecutor’s office.

Council members also approved health-related rollovers and donations: $295,000 for contractual services (approved 6–1), $10,000 for car seats, $10,000 for nurse supplies (approved 6–1), $50,000 for teaching materials, $1,000 for uniforms, $750 in donations for a Back to School Bash and $300 for a Community Baby Shower. The motions were moved and seconded by council members and generally passed with unanimous support except where noted.
