Redevelopment Commission opens confirmatory hearing on Heritage Hub TIF, continues it to Sept. 3

The Pendleton Redevelopment Commission opened a public hearing Aug. 6 on a confirmatory resolution tied to the Heritage Hub Economic Development Area and voted to continue the hearing to Sept. 3 at 5:30 p.m. to allow statutorily required notices and tax-impact statements to be distributed. Catherine Fanello, legal counsel for the town, told the commission that the tax-impact statements were not yet sent and recommended the continuation so Reedy Financial can complete the mailings.

Staff told the commission the May 28 declaratory resolution designated the area as an allocation area and approved the related economic development plan; the confirmatory resolution would restate and confirm those prior actions ahead of trust and developer-backed bond introductions to the economic development commission and town council. "So what we would propose here is to open the public hearing and continue the public hearing to the September 3 meeting," Fanello said. The motion to continue the hearing passed with one abstention recorded for Maddox. The commission will reopen the continued hearing on Sept. 3, when the resolution is expected to be acted on following receipt of the outstanding materials.
