Library staff announce InfoSoup catalog refresh and new mobile app launching Aug. 19

A staff member for Kewaunee County Libraries said, "A refreshed InfoSoup catalog and a brand new mobile app are coming on August 19." The announcement detailed new features intended to make it easier to discover books, movies and audiobooks and to use the catalog on computers, tablets and smartphones.

Library staff described several user-facing features, including the ability to create personalized lists, opt to save reading history, and link family accounts to manage checkouts. "You'll still have access to the entire InfoSoup network and shared collection," a second staff member said, reassuring patrons that library cards will continue to work after the switch. Staff also asked patrons to follow the libraries' social media channels for reminders and updates as the launch date approaches.

Officials warned of a brief service interruption: the current InfoSoup app will stop working starting Aug. 7 while the system transition occurs. Libraries will remain open for most services during the week of Aug. 10, with checkouts, public computer and Wi‑Fi access, printing and scanning available. The announcement noted the Algoma branch will be closed Aug. 14–15 as part of the transition. Staff said library employees will be available to help patrons with the new app and with any questions about the change.
