One commissioner argued the most effective physical countermeasure is rumble strips. “The most effective thing is rumble strips… they're inexpensive, and they're very effective,” Commissioner (S5) said, though staff noted rumble strips are not recommended at the Central/167th location and explained alternative outreach and engineering measures.
Traffic staff agreed to follow up with commissioners on the May 4 update and suggested outreach and temporary measures when the signage is installed; no final implementation vote was recorded during the agenda review.
