“Once, the design is complete, then we will go out for, bids,” said Presenter (S3), describing the timeline for the project and noting the county has begun the design procurement process. Staff said the new post will be similar to an existing Webb Road facility built under updated, more cost‑effective guidelines.
The fire/EMS chief confirmed the planned station would include two ambulance bays and an additional smaller bay intended for a district chief vehicle. “That is correct. 2 bays for ambulances,” Chief (S10) said, adding the extra office space is to provide privacy for supervisory duties and could accommodate a district chief vehicle if space allows.
Commissioners asked to be briefed on schematics and offered to visit the Webb Road model. County staff said they will bring schematic designs and furniture plans to future staff briefings so commissioners see progress before ribbon‑cutting events.
The discussion also revisited past savings from the Webb Road build; commissioners and staff said the prefab approach produced significant cost reductions and will inform this project’s design decisions.
