Montgomery's Planning Commission continued a detailed review of the Zoning Regulations draft dated Feb. 10, 2026, and asked the Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NWRPC) to consolidate the commission's edits into a revised draft. Emily KloƯt of NWRPC told members that, because of current funding limitations, her office will incorporate edits starting at the town's fiscal year (July 1) and aims to deliver a fully revised copy in July for commissioners to review in August.
The commission directed a broad set of changes across the document, including renaming and clarifying the definitions for 'principal building' to 'principal structure,' separating 'principal structure' from 'principal use,' and removing references to maintenance in the abandoned-building language. Commissioners flagged several sections for follow-up review and asked staff and NWRPC to prepare a consolidated draft for public circulation later this summer.
