Sedgwick County to provide plan-review and permitting services to Andover under cost-neutral agreement

Tom told commissioners the county has worked on an agreement with Andover to provide commercial plan review and permitting services and asked Chris to summarize the arrangement. He described the proposed arrangement as beneficial and largely cost-neutral.
"It's a beneficial cost neutral kind of, situation where, the fees and the charges for the services will come back into Chris's, department," Tom said, noting the arrangement helps Andover avoid hiring a full-time planner for services that do not justify an FTE. Tom said the county already extends similar services to other class-2 and -3 cities and counties.
Staff indicated they will present details during the budget presentation and at the May 7 meeting; no vote was taken during the agenda review.
