County, Wichita to coordinate Meadowlake Beach work with interlocal agreement to address annexation limits

Tom introduced an interlocal agreement on consent related to Meadowlake Beach (Meadowlake Beach 2nd edition). Lynn explained the subdivision is split between unincorporated Sedgwick County and the city of Wichita and that the Oak Lawn Improvement District prevents unilateral annexation of the affected portion, which is why an agreement is proposed to coordinate work with the developer.
"The subdivision itself is split between unincorporated Sedgwick County and, Wichita," Lynn said, and explained the agreement is designed to allow work to occur across jurisdictional boundaries with the developer.
A commissioner asked about the potential value of the new homes and whether they would be affordable housing; Lynn said she did not know the values but could follow up, noting the development is new construction with water features. The matter was categorized for consent, and staff said they would reach out with additional details about property values.
