County staff recommend buying Agilent ReVIDent system with KDOT grant to boost toxicology testing

"We submitted our scoring and selected or recommended Agilent Technologies Revident system, to be purchased with this grant money," Shelley said. She said the system will allow the lab to detect novel and psychoactive drugs and perform untargeted testing that the current setup cannot.
Commissioners asked whether the grant required a local match and whether maintenance costs were covered. Shelley said the funding comes from KDOT and "covers the complete cost of the grant and includes the maintenance of this system for 3 years." She also explained the county will purchase the system upfront and be refunded under the grant agreement.
The recommendation came during a review of bid-board items and grants; commissioners indicated they would review bid-board minutes and the RFP backup materials when preparing for the May 7 meeting. No formal procurement or contract award was recorded in this agenda-review discussion.
