County approves Franklin & Marshall internship to support behavioral health court outcomes

The Board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Ware Institute of Civic Engagement at Franklin & Marshall College to place an intern in the Behavioral Health/Developmental Services office.
The internship, part of an administrative-office initiative under the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts, will run 3.5 months with an expiration of May 1, 2026. There is no cost to Lancaster County. Commissioners approved the agreement on a motion from Commissioner Parsons, seconded by Commissioner Yoder. The motion passed unanimously.
County staff said the intern will assist staff in efforts to improve outcomes for individuals with behavioral health needs who intersect the local court system. The agreement was presented as an educational placement and partnership with a local college.
