Board hears 2026 funding totals; county adds $1.5M in new funds

Staff told the Board that county commissioners allocated $1.5 million in new funds for farmland preservation in 2026. Including county match, township contributions and clean-and-green roll-back tax interest, staff reported the total county preservation funding pool as $1,744,686 for 2026.
Board staff also said state allocations to counties were announced at a recent State Board meeting and that Lancaster County's allocation represents a $200,000 increase over last year. Staff noted Lancaster's allocation equates to roughly 7.4% of the total state allocation, slightly less than Chester County. No formal vote was required on funding during this meeting.
