Lancaster County approves $8,321 change order for wireless courtroom microphones

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners voted March 4 to approve a change order with Conference Technologies, Inc. to purchase three wireless microphones for Courtrooms 5, 7 and 11.
On a motion from Commissioner Joshua G. Parsons, seconded by Commissioner Alice Yoder, the Board approved the $8,321.42 change order covering the period May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2027. The County recorded the project's new total as $1,353,128.88 and listed remaining CIP funds of $232,588.12; funding was drawn from the Capital Budget.
County staff described the purchase as part of the Courtroom Audio and Visual Redesign and Replacement project and said wireless microphones will address a safety concern: corded microphones present a tripping hazard. The motion passed unanimously.
The Board did not alter the overall project authorization beyond updating the contract total and remaining funds. The item was moved by Commissioner Parsons and seconded by Commissioner Yoder.
