Fire chief previews Fire Prevention Day and says department is pursuing radio grant

South Range Fire Chief M. Balma told the council the department's fire truck was pump-tested and outlined plans for Fire Prevention Day on Oct. 4, 2024, with South Range Elementary students; Adams Township and Hurontown fire departments will participate and Hurontown will perform an extrication demonstration.
Balma also said the fire department is looking into a grant to acquire new radios; no application timeline or grant amount was provided. The chief said there is no set date yet for the town’s Christmas in South Range event.
