The Village of South Range council voted unanimously Sept. 5 to establish a Commercial Development District for 37 Trimountain Avenue following a public hearing. J. Ratcliffe of the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance told the council KEDA is working with C. Hamlin on a project that will add a second floor (two apartments) above a commercial first floor built on the existing, inspected foundation.
Trustee Marier moved to add the resolution to the agenda and later moved its approval; Trustee Bonini supported both actions and roll call recorded six ayes with Trustee Parolini absent. The public hearing had included the developer update and the council formalized support through the adopted resolution. The council closed the public hearing at 6:17 p.m. by motion of Trustee Korby, supported by Trustee Saaranen.
