Board members said they had received a street-and-sidewalk contract the morning of the meeting and that the presiding official (S2) would review it with LaBerge and the village engineer before moving forward. The official said they would have more information next month after that review and hoped to get the project started once coverage details were clarified.
The board discussed past experiences with taking over poorly constructed streets and the associated costs: "we had to completely rip up Alter Alleyway, redo Alter Alleyway... cost the village a lot of money," S2 said, noting the village's preference to resolve design and drainage issues up front and to require developer compliance with village standards.
