Perry Board honors four Students of the Month, including high school senior accepted to Oklahoma State

The Perry Board of Education recognized four Students of the Month Sept. 8, including high-school senior Serenity Beier, who has been accepted to Oklahoma State University and plans to pursue veterinary school.
The Perry Board of Education opened its Sept. 8 meeting by recognizing students across grade levels.
Mrs Shields introduced Cannon Ford as Lower Elementary’s Student of the Month, noting he loves to read and that his favorite school activity is recess. Mr. Miller and Mr. Carmin announced Upper Elementary and Junior High honorees, Annie Higgins and Nova Oquendo, who will be formally recognized next month. High School student of the month Serenity Beier was recognized by Mr. Hight; the board noted she is a senior involved in band, color guard, honor society, student council and basketball and that she has been accepted to Oklahoma State University and plans to attend veterinary school.
The acknowledgements were brief and ceremonial; no formal actions were taken as part of the recognitions. The board’s regular agenda then proceeded to district business and committee items.
