The chair said the draft budget includes modest pay increases across village staff, reflecting recent health-care cost pressure and CPI adjustments. "I did raises for 2% raises for most people that work for us," the Chair said, adding that one employee upgraded health-insurance plans and that higher premiums were part of the reason for larger CPI-based adjustments in some lines.
The draft also includes stipends for elected officials in the election year: "1000 dollars for each of the board members and 1,500 for the mayor's position," the Chair said. The chair noted the judge had been getting 2% raises and that personnel items would be handled as usual in the upcoming payroll cycle. No formal vote was taken during the workshop; these items remain part of the draft budget for the public hearing.
