Hewlett Neck trustees adopt 2025–26 budget, set tax rates and approve staff raises

The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Hewlett Neck adopted the tentative budget for the fiscal year beginning June 1, 2025 and ending May 31, 2026 on March 24, 2025. The motion to adopt the budget was made by Mayor Moshe Blinder and seconded by Trustee Russel Weinrib; it passed unanimously.
The Board also set the village tax rates for 2025 as follows: Class 1 — 136.080, Class 3 — 2.809, and Class 4 — 8.729 per $100 of assessed value. The Clerk was directed to deliver the assessment roll to the Treasurer on or before May 20, 2025 and to mail tax bills to property owners after May 25, 2025. The resolution includes a warrant to be executed by the Mayor to commence collection June 1 through July 1, 2025.
The Board approved salary increases of 4% effective June 1, 2025 for Michelle Blandino, Karen Quintavalle and Dana Garraputa. The adoption also directs that a certified copy of the final budget be filed with the New York State Comptroller’s office.
"BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the tentative budget as presented this evening be adopted as the official budget of the Village for fiscal year commencing June 1, 2025 and ending May 31, 2026," the adopted resolution states.
