Hewlett Neck board approves new parking rules limiting street parking to 8 AM–6 PM

The Village of Hewlett Neck Board of Trustees on Jan. 31 adopted a resolution amending the village parking code to set permitted passenger-vehicle parking on village streets between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM and to tighten no-parking locations.
The adopted amendment to Village Code §140-38 reads in part: "Notwithstanding the prohibition of parking in Village Code §140-15, the Board authorizes the parking of passenger vehicles only on Village streets from 8:00am to 6:00pm. No Commercial Vehicles to park on Village roads at any time. No Parking on Browers Point Branch at any time. Harold Road to be exempt from all parking restrictions." The motion to adopt the change was approved unanimously.
Board members did not record extended debate in the minutes; the resolution was moved and seconded and approved during the meeting. The change will be reflected in village signage and enforcement under existing parking authority in the village code.
