Residents ask about sewer hookups; fire department reports federal grant for new station

During the public comment portion of the Jan. 7 meeting, Piney Hill Road property owner Brian Endzel asked how he could connect a Town-limits property that currently uses a septic system to the Town sewer should his septic fail. Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan advised that Mr. Endzel would be financially responsible to run the sewer main from the closest endpoint to his property and that questions about his septic system should be directed to the Talbot County Health Department.
Nick Newnam, president of the Little League, thanked the council for help with the softball field project and congratulated the council on getting the ENR upgrade started. Cheryl Lewis told the council the fire department had received federal grant funding for a new fire house; she said department leaders are working on permits and continuing fundraising. No formal action was taken on the public comments.
