Council approves street closures for Aug. 22 "Rock the Block" concert

The Jerseyville City Council voted to close multiple downtown streets for the Rock the Block concert scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22. Commissioner John Miles moved to approve the closure and Commissioner Zachary Crawford seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The approved closures cover West Arch Street (from Washington to State), Washington Street (from Arch to the south entrance of parking lot L) and the alley from West Prairie Street to West Arch Street from 1:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Mayor Kevin Stork also announced the concert will feature Matt Jordan and run from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
