Parks staff told the council they expect to hold a ribbon-cutting for the Carroll Park Dog Park in about two weeks and continue work at Cole Park, including a bike-park paving project planned for early September. Staff said final playground designs are narrowed to two options and that grant timelines (through end of 2027) are driving project sequencing.
Public works staff reported recent completion of Pike Avenue and West 6th Street rehabilitation and previewed the Cielo/Clark overlay project (near Walmart) slated to begin around Aug. 31, with much of the work scheduled at night to reduce daytime traffic impacts. Staff also explained they broke an unplanned Boyd School infrastructure grant project into three phases to spend available DOLA grant funds before the grant expiration and noted stormwater and sanitary-line repair needs in the project area.
What’s next: staff will circulate ribbon-cutting details, begin Cielo/Clark overlay work in late August, and return to council if enterprise funds are needed to fully complete Boyd School infrastructure phases.
