Calumet Village Council met Feb. 25, 2025 at Calumet Village Townhall to consider amendments to the FY2025 budget and a proposed FY2026 budget. Village Manager Megan Haselden presented hard copies of the budgets and provided a breakdown of millages; the minutes record that no members of the public were present for the public hearing.
Haselden also stated for the record that the meeting had been posted in accordance with Michigan law, citing MCL Section 141.412, and noted that the budget materials had been reviewed and discussed at council meetings and work sessions over the previous month. After the presentation and discussion of millages, President Rob Tarvis suggested adjourning the public hearing and moving into the Special Meeting; the council acted on that suggestion and adjourned the hearing at 6:10 p.m.
Next steps for the proposed FY2026 budget (adoption dates, public review periods, or further hearings) were not specified in the minutes. The minutes show the council moved promptly to the Special Meeting following the public hearing.
