Council approves CNCC Foundation Dinner special‑event permit, with ID and cleanup conditions

The Rangely Town Council approved a special event permit and supporting liquor license materials for the CNCC Foundation Dinner scheduled April 12, 2025.
Keely Ellis, executive director of advancement for the CNCC Foundation, told the council the event will serve beer and wine, use faculty and staff as bartenders, and will implement ID and wristband systems to prevent underage service. “Based on your comment, Kyle, we can definitely increase that to anyone who looks under the age of 50,” Ellis said, referring to more conservative carding for large events.
Council members said they expected the event to be cleaned up and noted letters of support from the college president and the police chief were included in the packet. The motion to approve the special‑event permit passed by voice vote.
