Supervisor reports Rangely is near-compliant on website accessibility and pursuing Dark Sky designation and RARE grant projects

Supervisor Jeanie updated the council on an ongoing website accessibility effort under the state's site-improvement program (CIPA/SIPA) and said the town recently won a CommonLook grant to improve PDF accessibility. She explained requirements such as alt text for images, single-header rules and a formal accessibility statement and said she has been working on the effort for about a year.
Jeanie also reported Rangely has been accepted again for mentorship in Colorado's Dark Sky program; she said a mentor will visit in April to finish the town's lighting inventory and the community has 10 years to meet the program guidelines. On economic-development work, she said the RARE grant application and a related pitch competition are scheduled to launch around April 1 and that about six to eight businesses had already inquired about the program.
