The Rangely Town Council voted to approve the preliminary December 2024 financial summary at its Jan. 28 meeting. Town staff reported a large transfer to water and wastewater funds to finish a capital project, and councilors approved the summary without recorded opposition.
Town Manager (speaking to the council) said the transfer was necessary because the wastewater fund needed to finish a 0.5-turn project and that overall the numbers "really are not hurting" the town's budget. He added that the town remains uncertain about year-end revenue but is "still pretty confident that this year, hopefully, we'll be able to stay in budget." The motion to approve carried following a brief discussion; the meeting record shows the motion was made by Kyle and seconded by Robbie.
