Residents press board on STR garbage enforcement and cemetery stewardship during public comment

Public comment drew sharp attention to perceived enforcement gaps for short-term rental garbage and to local volunteer projects. Hank Williams of Woodland Valley told the board that a short-term rental rule requiring trash to be removed from the street after pickup is not being enforced: "It seems like there's no enforcement for that at all, and the cans are out 24 7 all over the place," Williams said, and he also noted the town’s building-code officer resigned that day.
Other speakers thanked volunteers and donors: Theresa Bryant asked about the allocation of a donated check intended for recreation programs, and Angela Galindo and Barbara Landry described successful fundraising and volunteer efforts for recreation and cemetery-cleaning projects, including $165 raised to clean veterans' headstones. The board acknowledged the concerns and said staffing and reporting items would be followed up.
