At a Feb. 25 special meeting the Calumet Village Council voted unanimously to adopt the maximum allowable taxes permitted under the General Law Village Act as reduced by the Headlee Rollback Amendment. Manager Megan Haselden reviewed current millages and when they expire before the motion.
Trustee Pamela Que moved the tax resolution and Trustee Bernice Smith seconded. The roll call vote recorded Que, Smith, Ryan, Tercha, L’Esperance and Tarvis as yeas and the motion carried 6–0. The minutes record the motion as: “the Maximum Allowable Taxes to be allowed under the General Law Village Act as reduced by the Headlee Rollback Amendment.”
The minutes do not list specific millage rates or expiration dates; the manager noted those details were reviewed but the document filed with the clerk holds the specifics rather than the meeting minutes.
