"I do have the objection of doing that tonight without... having him here to talk to us as a council," one council member said, noting questions about how the $200,000 would be used and doubts about the report's projected local economic benefits. Staff indicated the missing funds from the project were recovered within the year, but several members asked for the county or project lead to appear and explain the planned spending and timing before the town issues the check on Feb. 28.
A motion to table the item to the Feb. 25, 2025 town council agenda was made and seconded; the motion carried by voice vote. Staff said the check could be written but held until a presentation is made, if the council prefers.
