Supervisor reports water-line leak and upcoming equipment deliveries

Public works Supervisor Jeff told the Rangely Town Council that winter maintenance has been light but the department is preparing for summer work with ordered supplies and equipment.
"Our summer project this year consists of updating and bringing the signage to code on the North Side of town," Jeff said, and added that a new maintainer and a custom-built street sander are expected in the coming weeks and August, respectively. He described a substantial leak discovered on an abandoned line patched temporarily; the leak may require excavation and permanent removal of that service if it fails again.
Council members discussed whether the problematic line is a town main or a private/service line and debated how to isolate the leak; volunteers from the council offered to help with excavation if needed. Jeff said the street sweeper replacement quote is pending and the town will weigh repair versus replacement.
