The town board adopted Local Law 25-3 on a unanimous vote after completing a short environmental assessment form and checking the box indicating no significant environmental impact. Chair led the board through Parts 1–3 of the SEQR form and moved that the proposed law “will not result in any significant adverse environmental impacts,” which the board approved.
The law authorizes the town board to approve temporary special events — including concerts, food or crafts festivals, and bicycle tours — on public or private property for no longer than five days, subject to conditions the board may impose. Board members discussed thresholds for requiring approval, noting the ordinance applies to advertised or ticketed public events rather than private yard sales or personal gatherings. The board conducted a roll call and recorded the measure as adopted; the materials and the local-law draft will be posted on the town website under the "laws" section.
