Hewlett Neck trustees approve 40-by-90-foot temporary tent at 955 Browers Point Branch after SEQRA finding

Hewlett Neck trustees on Sept. 27 unanimously found themselves Lead Agency under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and approved a request for a temporary tent at 955 Browers Point Branch.
The Board adopted a resolution classifying the proposal as an Unlisted Action under SEQRA and concluded the project would not cause significant adverse environmental impacts, including on air and water quality, traffic, noise, vegetation, or historic resources. The resolution granted permission to erect a 40-foot by 90-foot tent to be installed on Sept. 30, 2024 and remain on site through Oct. 14, 2024. The village code limit for temporary tents is seven days; the granted period covers 15 days.
Mayor Moshe Blinder made the motion to adopt the SEQRA finding and approve the tent; Deputy Mayor Isaac Showman seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. The minutes record the Board's written findings that the proposed action would not create significant cumulative or site-specific environmental impacts and that no further SEQRA review was required.
The decision authorizes the applicant at 955 Browers Point Branch to proceed with installation on Sept. 30 and removal by Oct. 14, 2024. The village clerk noted the resolution and that documentation is on file in the Village office.
