Avon council extends temporary moratoria on assisted-living permits, short-term rentals and certain commercial developments

Avon City Council on June 22 unanimously adopted a trio of emergency ordinances placing temporary moratoria on several categories of land uses. Ordinance No. 66-26 pauses issuance and processing of special-use permits for assisted living, nursing homes and independent senior living (Part 12 of the Avon codified ordinances); Ordinance No. 67-26 extends a moratorium on short-term rentals, boarding houses and extended-stay properties; and Ordinance No. 68-26 stops acceptance and processing of applications for car wash and self-storage facility permits. All three were passed after the Council suspended the rules and recorded 6–0 votes.
