Councilmember Nadeau moved an amendment in the nature of a substitute to the Accountancy Practice Amendment Act; the amendment incorporated technical administrative updates recommended by the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection and added a provision addressing tow‑company impound identifications.
The mover said the amendment keeps core accounting licensure intact while adding two components concerning business licensing matters regulated by DLCP. She said the changes were recommended in the form of emergency and temporary legislation and would make permanent or more workable several previously adopted temporary provisions. The Council voted to approve the amendment unanimously and then passed the bill as amended on first reading.
The Council recorded the vote and moved on; the amendment was carried unanimously and the engrossed language will be published before the next reading.
